How to Wire an Electric Fireplace Insert

1. Shut off the power to the circuit

Before you start any electrical work, it's important to shut off the power to the circuit that you'll be working on. You can do this by flipping the circuit breaker or removing the fuse.

2. Remove the old fireplace insert

If you're replacing an old fireplace insert, you'll need to remove it before you can install the new one. To do this, simply unscrew the screws that are holding it in place and lift it out of the fireplace.

3. Connect the wires

Once the old fireplace insert is removed, you'll need to connect the wires from the new insert to the wires in your wall. The wires should be color-coded, so it's easy to connect them correctly.

The black wire from the insert should be connected to the black wire in the wall. The white wire from the insert should be connected to the white wire in the wall. The green wire from the insert should be connected to the green or bare copper wire in the wall.

4. Tuck the wires away
