How to Replace Thermocouple on Majestic Gas Fireplace

Replacing the thermocouple on a Majestic gas fireplace is a relatively simple task that can be completed in about 30 minutes. A thermocouple is a safety device that shuts off the gas supply to the fireplace if the pilot light goes out. Over time, thermocouples can become worn or damaged, and they may need to be replaced. Turn off the gas supply to the fireplace. This is typically done by turning a valve located on the gas line near the fireplace.
Remove the front panel of the fireplace. Most Majestic gas fireplaces have a front panel that is held in place by a few screws. Remove the screws and carefully lift off the front panel.
Locate the thermocouple. The thermocouple is a small, metal probe that is located near the pilot light. It is typically connected to the gas valve by a wire.
