Covering a Brick Fireplace with Drywall: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Prepare the Surface

Start by removing any loose debris or mortar from the brick surface. Use a wire brush to clean the bricks and remove any old paint or adhesives. If necessary, use a drill to remove any nails or screws.

Apply a thin layer of construction adhesive to the brick surface. This will help create a bond between the drywall and the brick. Allow the adhesive to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 2: Install the Drywall
