How to Build a Fireplace: A Comprehensive Guide

The materials required for building a fireplace include firebricks, refractory mortar, fireplace damper, hearth, smoke chamber, and chimney pipe. Choose high-quality materials that comply with building codes and ensure durability.

3. Building the Firebox

The firebox is the heart of the fireplace and requires careful construction. Assemble firebricks using refractory mortar, forming the sides, back, and floor of the box. Leave an opening at the top for the damper and smoke chamber.

4. Installing the Damper and Smoke Chamber
