Step 2: Prepare the Mantel Board

Sand the mantel board to remove any rough spots or unevenness. If desired, stain or paint the board to match your desired look. Let it dry completely before assembly.

Step 3: Attach the Mantel Legs

Measure and mark the center point of the mantel board's bottom edge. Position the mantel legs or corbels on either side of this point, aligning them with the marked center. Drill pilot holes and secure the legs with wood screws.

Step 4: Mount the Mantel on the Wall

Use a level to ensure the mantel is positioned straight. Mark the location of the mounting holes on the wall. Drill pilot holes and insert wall anchors if necessary. Lift the mantel into place and secure it to the wall using screws.

Step 5: Fill and Finish
