How To Start Your Napoleon Gas Fireplace

Napoleon gas fireplaces are a great way to add warmth and ambiance to your home. They are also relatively easy to operate, but there are a few things you need to know before you start using one. Here are the essential steps on how to start your Napoleon gas fireplace:

1. Safety First

Before you do anything else, make sure that the area around your fireplace is clear of any flammable materials. This includes furniture, curtains, and rugs. You should also open a window or door to ventilate the room.

2. Locate the Gas Valve

The gas valve is usually located on the bottom of the fireplace, behind a small access panel. Turn the valve clockwise to open it.

3. Light the Pilot Light

The pilot light is a small flame that keeps the main burner lit. To light the pilot light, use a long lighter or match to reach inside the fireplace and ignite the flame. Hold the lighter or match in place for a few seconds until the pilot light stays lit on its own.

4. Adjust the Flame

Once the pilot light is lit, you can adjust the flame to the desired height. To do this, use the knob or lever located on the front of the fireplace.

5. Turn on the Main Burner

The main burner is what produces the heat for your fireplace. To turn on the main burner, press the ignition button located on the front of the fireplace. The main burner will ignite and begin to heat up the fireplace.

6. Enjoy Your Fireplace

Once the fireplace is lit, you can sit back and enjoy the warmth and ambiance. Be sure to keep an eye on the fireplace and make sure that the flame stays lit.

Additional Tips

Here are a few additional tips for starting your Napoleon gas fireplace:

  • If the pilot light does not stay lit, you may need to clean the thermocouple.
  • If the main burner does not ignite, you may need to replace the battery in the ignition module.
  • Never leave your fireplace unattended while it is lit.
  • Have your fireplace serviced by a qualified technician once a year.

By following these steps, you can safely and easily start your Napoleon gas fireplace and enjoy the warmth and ambiance it provides.
