How to Start Your Napoleon Gas Fireplace

Watching the beautiful flames of a gas fireplace in the dead of winter is a fantastic way to keep your home warm and inviting. However, before you can cozy up next to the fire, you must know how to start your Napoleon gas fireplace. This guide will show you the essential steps to get your fireplace up and running quickly and safely.

1. Gather Your Tools

Before starting your fireplace, gather the necessary tools:

  • Fireplace remote control
  • AAA batteries (if the remote requires them)
  • Gas lighter or fireplace lighter

2. Open the Gas Supply

To allow gas to flow to your fireplace, you must open the gas supply valve. This valve is typically located near the fireplace or on the gas line leading to it. Turn the valve to the "on" position.

3. Insert the Batteries into the Remote and Test It

If your fireplace uses a remote control, insert the AAA batteries and ensure they are functioning correctly before proceeding.

4. Locate the On/Off Switch

Find the on/off switch on the fireplace. It is usually a small switch located on the front or side of the fireplace.

5. Turn On the Fireplace

Flip the on/off switch to the "on" position. This should ignite the pilot light, which will start the gas flowing to the burners.

6. Adjust the Flame Height

Once the fireplace is ignited, use the remote control to adjust the flame height. Most fireplaces have multiple flame height settings, allowing you to customize the heat output.

7. Enjoy Your Fireplace

Now that your fireplace is up and running, sit back, relax, and enjoy the warmth and ambiance it provides. Remember to turn the fireplace off when you are done using it by following the steps in reverse.

Additional Tips:

  • If you experience any difficulties starting your fireplace, refer to the manufacturer's instructions for troubleshooting.
  • Never leave the flame unattended.
  • Keep children and pets away from the fireplace.
  • Have your fireplace inspected and serviced annually by a qualified technician.
